Sorority & Chapter

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. aims to achieve greater progress in the areas of education, health awareness, and leadership development. In the tradition of the seven educators who founded the sorority, we continue to promote scholastic excellence.

In alignment with the sorority’s goal, Theta Omega Sigma Chapter offers a merit-based scholarship for higher education awarded by the Yellow Tea Rose Foundation, Inc. of Rochester which is the charitable arm of the chapter.

About the Scholarship

In 2014, Theta Omega Sigma established the Romunda Harris-Fonville Scholarship Fund to award high-achieving, community-involved, graduating high school women with financial support to pursue their higher educational goals.  The scholarship fund is named in honor of Theta Omega Sigma charter member, Romunda Harris-Fonville, who has made great contributions to the sorority by serving in various capacities at the local, regional, and international levels.
